Pistolera and Digital Villain Studios on NY1 NoticiasNEW YORK CITY, N.Y. - June 1, 2006 - Digital Villain Studios, NYC-based design studio and video production boutique, has completed production on a short music documentary for Pistolera, a NYC-based band with its own brand of latin pop-folklorico, incoporating traditional Mexican music mixed with Spanish lyrics and rock attitude. Portions of this documentary were featured on NY1 Noticias, the Spanish-language sister-station of NYC-based all-news channel NY1. Shot by Omar Solis at 5 shows over the course of 6 months, Pistolera: Six-Minute Shootout focuses Pistolera's musicians, their music, and their shows. It also serving for the band's electronic press kit. NY1 Noticias ran a short profile on Pistolera; this profile included footage from Pistolera: Six-Minute Shootout. Digital Villain Studios offers Front-end Design solutions in addition to Interactive Design, E-commerce, Hosting, Video Production, Flash/Video Conversions, Rich Media Advertising Production, Video Production for Cable Access, as well as original content showcasing the talents of its members. Pistolera is a NYC-based electrifying quartet featuring the Spanish lyric songs of vocalist and guitarist Sandra Lilia Velásquez, the driving accordion melodies of Maria Elena, and the unbeatable rhythm section of bassist Inca B. Satz and drummer Ani Cordero. The band played it's first show in early 2005 and was immediately well received and invited to perform at venues such as Joe's Pub, SOB's, Southpaw, The Brooklyn New Music Fest, CMJ, and The Brooklyn Museum to name few. After only four months of being a band they recorded their first demo which has been played on underground radio stations around the country.
